THIRTY MINUTE WALK & NAIL TRIM

Varies

Getting a walk every day is an essential part of your dog’s health and one of the keys to giving them a happy life.  We will come over and walk your pet(s) for thirty (30) minutes before giving them a nail trim and/or filing with our dremel.  This is beneficial health wise for your pet(s) in many ways and gives your pet a chance to bond with us prior to his/her nail trim.

DOG NAIL TRIM

$20

Trimming your dog's nails is an important grooming task that helps her stay happy and healthy. When you don't clip your dog's nails, they can end up growing too long, which can cause problems. If the nails get too long, they can curve over and grow into the foot pad. Uncut nails can also split down to the quick (this is what bleeds when you cut the nail too short), causing pain, infection, and other issues. Also, once nails grow too long, the quick itself is longer, making it harder to cut the nails short.

PUPPY NAIL TRIM

Discounts Available

Puppies' nails grow very fast and many puppies are even ready for their first nail clipping on the day they are born! A puppy will need to have his nails cut about every two (2) weeks, at least initially during that rapid growth spurt. We offer a discount for people that book appointments every two (2) weeks until the age of twelve (12) weeks to accommodate for this growth spurt.

Untitled

CAT NAIL TRIM

$20

If a cat's claws are not trimmed on a regular basis, they can curl in on themselves and grow into the foot pad, causing intense pain. Untrimmed nails can also pose a hazard to people and furniture, both of which can be injured by claws that are too long.

Untitled

NAIL CAPS FOR CATS

$40

This is a safe alternative to declawing that lasts approximately four (4) to six (6) weeks.
Availability of colors varies.

Untitled

HEDGEHOG NAIL TRIM

$20

Hedgehog nails grow quickly and need to be trimmed every two (2) to four (4) weeks otherwise you risk serious Vet bills. When hedgehog nails get too long (and they get pretty long, especially in the back) it can make it uncomfortable for your hedgehog to walk and run in their wheel.  Since your hedgehog is a pet and not a wild animal, kept in a different environment, you'll have their nails trimmed. Otherwise they will become too long and this will affect your hedgehog, making it difficult for them to walk.

Untitled

GUINEA PIG NAIL TRIM

$20

Guinea pig's claws grow constantly and should be trimmed at least once a month; however, clipping them more frequently will help create a routine and prevent the quick, or blood supply in the nails, from edging too closely toward the tip.

Untitled

RABBIT NAIL TRIM

$20

If a rabbit's nails get long, it changes the angle at which it puts its feet down. This may not sound like a big concern but it is very important as it can add extra wear on the joints because they are moving in an unnatural way. Long nails can get snagged easily and can be torn, sometimes right out of the nail bed. It is better to make tiny, frequent cuts than to cut too much once the nails grow long. Clip your rabbit's claws every four (4) to six (6) weeks, depending on how active it is.

Untitled

LIZARD NAIL TRIM

$20+

Bearded dragons, like most lizards, require having their nails trimmed regularly. If left to grow long, a bearded dragon's nails will become sharp and almost razor-like and can inflict damage upon contact. To prevent injury to you or others, cutting your reptile's nails regularly is essential.

Untitled

FERRET NAIL TRIM

$20+

Ferrets have non-retractable toenails that need to be trimmed at regular intervals.  Ideally, we should trim them every two (2) weeks; however, some only need to be trimmed monthly.

Untitled

BIRD NAIL TRIM

$40

Many bird owners agree that trimming a bird's nails isn't the easiest task; however, it's necessary from time to time to preserve your pet's health and comfort, as well as to maintain your own safety. Trimming or clipping a bird's nails is a necessary job. If you've ever been scratched by a bird's claws, you know how sharp and painful they can be! Overgrown nails may become caught or trapped on toys, clothing, or the cage and injure the bird.

Untitled

BIRD BEAK TRIM

$25

Beaks continue growing throughout birds’ lives. Although birds’ beaks usually wear evenly, some birds develop beak problems and require veterinary assistance. Preventative measures are paramount. Trimming its beak incorrectly can cause your bird pain and may prevent it from eating, which is why we recommend having your bird’s beak professionally trimmed. Do not attempt to trim your bird’s beak at home.

Untitled

SKUNK SMELL REMOVAL FROM PET

$50+

Was your pet sprayed by a skunk?  We understand this is an emergency, so we attempt to be available anytime for skunk smell removal (with organic/natural ingredients). We have a mixture that we use every time that works really well. Just send us a message and we will address any questions and concerns you may have.

Untitled

ANAL GLAND EXPRESSION

$15

Anal gland expression is a procedure which is performed on cats or dogs when fluid inside the gland builds and the animal is unable to express the fluid themselves. A professional pet groomer may perform this procedure if needed, but it is essential that you take your pet to an experienced groomer who can identify possible infections or situations which require veterinary care.

What is an Anal Gland?
The anal glands or anal sacs are small glands near the anus in many mammals, including dogs and cats, that secrete a liquid that is used for identification of members within a species.

SUBCUTANEOUS FLUID THERAPY FOR CATS

$50+

Most cats feel better with subcutaneous fluid therapy, which is cost-effective and easy to administer at home.  If your Veterinarian recommends it for him, try it and see how he responds.  Cats with chronic kidney disease lose their ability to conserve water and filter toxins from the blood.  It is typically administered two (2) to three (3) times a week; however, it depends on the cat and severity of kidney disease. Some cats only need fluids once a week, while others need it daily.

Owners are responsible for all materials and medications.

This is something that we can do for you or we can train you to do it.  Cats sense anxiety.  If you're uncomfortable administering the fluids, your cat will most likely be as well.  We can walk you both through that transition period if you choose.

Untitled

ADD-ON TEETH BRUSHING

$5

All dogs and cats are healthier, more comfortable and likely to live longer if they have their teeth brushed regularly!  Unbrushed teeth tend to become infected and may loosen and fall out.  This is painful and unhealthy, and the bacteria in dental disease can affect the whole body - especially the kidneys, heart, lungs, and liver.  If your pet’s teeth and gums are already inflamed and infected, they should be cleaned by your Vet, under anesthesia.

Owner is responsible for the toothbrush and toothpaste.

Untitled

ADD-ON EAR CLEANING FOR DOGS

$5

Some dogs have naturally healthy, clean ears and may never need to have their ears cleaned; however, others require regular cleaning to prevent the buildup of dirt that can lead to ear infections.

TRAVEL CHARGE

$0.25 per mile (please see below for details)

We currently charge $0.25 per mile both ways once we leave Denton County limits. If you would like to avoid this charge, you could plan a Pawty with six (6) or more of your favorite furry friends. We will happily waive the fee and drive to a neighboring county to accommodate you. Or, you can always meet us at one of our Pawp-Up Events throughout the Metroplex. They're always fun for the entire family and we bring treats (for the furry friends). We are planning on expanding into neighboring counties, so your referrals are appreciated. The sooner we establish a new client base, the faster we will be able to hire a qualified, loving professional to service your area.

VACCINATIONS

BORDETELLA (KENNEL COUGH)

Bordetella (commonly called “kennel cough”): The bordetella virus causes an extremely contagious upper respiratory infection. Puppies should be given two doses of the Bordetella vaccine, about a month apart. Annual boosters are recommended if your dog regularly interacts with large groups of unknown dogs (boarding facilities, groomers, dog parks, etc.)

CANINE INFLUENZA (CIV, CANINE FLU)

Canine Influenza (CIV): Commonly known as “the canine flu,” canine influenza is easily transmitted between dogs through a combination of aerosols, droplets, and direct contact with respiratory secretions. Annual boosters are recommended if your dog regularly interacts with large groups of unknown dogs (boarding facilities, groomers, dog parks, etc.)

DAPPV (CANINE DISTEMPER)

Distemper, Hepatitis, Parainfluenza and Parvovirus (DAPPv): Commonly called the “distemper shot,” this combination vaccine actually protects against five diseases: canine distemper, adenovirus, hepatitis, parainfluenza, and parvovirus. It’s given to puppies in a series of three vaccines and then given every year to adult dogs. Along with rabies, DAPPv is considered a set of core vaccines: those universally recommended for dogs no matter what the circumstance.

FELINE FHCPCH COMBINATION (FELINE DISTEMPER)

This vaccine protects against common upper respiratory diseases such as Rhinotracheitis, Calici, Chlamydia, and Panleukopenia, that cats can catch even if they live indoors. It is recommended if your cat is ever boarded, hospitalized, etc. Many Veterinarians, boarding and grooming facilities require this vaccination.

FELV

Feline Leukemia/Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FeLV/FIV) Testing: This testing is recommended for all cats, especially those with unknown histories. This is a blood test that checks for these infectious diseases in the cat’s blood stream. Leukemia and FIV are transmitted through bites, infected body fluids such as saliva, grooming, sexual contact and mother to offspring.

LEPTO

Leptospirosis: Dogs can become infected with “Leptospira” bacteria by exposure to contaminated water, exposure to urine from an infected animal, bite wounds, and ingestion of tissues from infected animals. Annual boosters are recommended if your dog has potential to come in contact with any wild animals or unknown bodies of water.

LYME

Lyme: Lyme disease is caused by bacteria called “Borrelia burgdorferi” and is spread by ticks. Annual boosters are recommended (ideally before tick season) if your dog is in an area where ticks may be present.

RABIES

Rabies is a virus that may affect the brain and spinal cord of all mammals. The first rabies vaccination should be given at 3 to 4 months of age, with the first booster shot given one year later (at 15 months of age). Thereafter, give boosters annually.

DRONCIT TAPEWORM DEWORMER

Droncit is a dewormer that treats tapeworms. Tapeworms are caused by the ingestion of fleas.

STRONGID-T GENERAL DEWORMER

Dogs:

Strongid-T is a general dewormer that treats hookworms and roundworms. Most puppies are born with internal parasites or worms derived from their mother, so puppies should be given three doses of this dewormer. It is also used to treat worms in adult dogs.

Cats:

The same protocol is followed for kittens and adult cats,
